DIY: Furniture Restoration Introduction

Come along to this lesson to learn the basics of how to bring back an old piece of furniture from the brink and breathe new life into it.

In this introduction class we'll cover an introduction to sanding and polishing:

- the basics of sanding

- mixing shellac

- making bee wax

 

All materials are provided and you will even go home with your own wooden heat mat for the kitchen!


The techniques taught in class will focus on methods that rely on minimal tools and workshop space. The focus here is more on learning, experimenting and developing your own style.

 

The class will be taught by Tim Denshire-Key. Tim is a designer based in Melbourne, with a background in industrial furniture restoration and recycled timber furniture. More of his work can be viewed at:
